Itinerary
Day 1 Rio de Janeiro
Upon arrival we are met and transferred to our hotel. Afternoon
at leisure. This evening, enjoy dinner at a “Churrascaria”
restaurant of barbecued meats marinated and roasted in a Brazilian
style. After dinner we proceed to a Samba show, where
the color and extravaganza will plunge you into the pristine
Carioca’s vitality. Overnight at selected hotel.

Day
2 Rio de Janeiro
After breakfast we visit the Lagoon district until Cosme
Velho, where the cogwheel train stations to Corcovado
is located. Riding the train, we reach the top of Corcovado
Mountain about 2300 feet above sea level, where is the 125-foot
statue of Christ the Redeemer, Rio’s landmark. From
the top of this mountain you we enjoy a superb panorama of
Rio. You have a choice instead of Corcovado to visit the Sugar
Loaf Mountain where you observe the countless bays and Rio’s
curvaceous coastline from different angles. Afternoon at leisure.

Day
3 Petropolis
Morning excursion to Petropolis, a mountain resort,
site of the former summer palace of Emperor Don Pedro II,
King of Portugal. Visit to the imperial museum. At the
end we will visit the markets of silver jewelry, leather goods
and lacework. Return to Rio. Balance of the day at leisure.

4 Salvador - Bahia
This morning we are transferred to airport for flight to Salvador
– Bahia. On arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon
historical city tour of this 400 years old city where
its many churches and the African Heritage well represented
with the “candomble” and “macumba
rites, live in harmony. We stop at Barra Lighthouse,
then Santa Maria Fortress, Barra Harbor, and
Victoria uphill 19th century neighborhood. Campo Grande
Square, St. Peter Fortress and Churches such as Rosario,
Merces, Sao Bento, and St. Francis of gold baroque style.
Ending with Carmelite Square and it’s church;
museum, and stores with a variety of laces, embroidery, liqueurs,
silver, handicraft, jewelry, and antiques. This evening we
enjoy a dinner show with the vivacious dances of African
background of Bahia and the famous Capoeira.

Day
5 Salvador - Bahia
After an early breakfast, we depart to the Lower City where
we board a schooner for a delightful cruise through
emerald green waters. On the way to the Main Island Itaparica,
we stop at a little island for swim. On arrival we visit St.
Lawrence Fort and other important historic places dating
from the 17th century. Soft drinks and natural juices and
Lunch are available during the cruise. Late afternoon return
to Salvador. Overnight at selected hotel. (B,L)
Day
6 Iguassu Falls
Early breakfast and transfer to the airport for flight to
Iguassu. On arrival transfer to Das Cataratas Hotel. Afternoon
walk tour to the Iguassu Falls Brazilian side, boasting
impressive views of one of South America’s most stunning
natural attractions. Overnight Das Cataratas Hotel. (B)
Day 7 Iguassu Falls
Morning visit to the Argentinean side of the falls,
the most spectacular fall is Devil’s Throat enveloped
in a permanent fog that forms a perfect rainbow. Afternoon
of leisure to explore the falls on your own. Overnight
at Das Cataratas Hotel. (B)
Day
8 Departure
Transfer to the airport for flight to Sao Paulo and connect
with our International flight back home. (B)
